During 2017, I spent a year travelling across Japan and along this journey I picked up my love for Japanese aesthetics and all things kawaii! My other half (Eric) and I launched Chopsticks on the Loose to capture our travels and since then the term “Chopsticks” – “ohashi” in Japanese – has stuck with us!
Fast forward to 2020, with lockdown in place and our travels put on hold, I began my first stay-at-home project where I explored various arts and crafts. One day, I found a 20-year old sewing machine from my parent’s garage and decided to brush off the dust and put it to use! Little did I know, it became the start of a new creative journey – ohashii.com.
ohashii is a place where I share my handmade Japanese-inspired clothing & accessories, such as unique pocket t-shirts, scrunchies and pet bandanas. Right now my focus is on making comfortable fabric face coverings in hopes to help with the current situation, though as time continues I am looking forward to sharing new creations with you all!
Thank you for visiting and I hope you’ll find something that you like! ♡
